Managing Patients with COPD: Improving Health-Related Quality of Life Outcomes

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive disease associated with deterioration in health-related quality of life. However its clinical course can be managed through interventions such as pulmonary rehabilitation and pharmacotherapy. This course will provide you with an understanding of how to utilize strategies for increasing exercise tolerance and reducing dyspnea in patients with COPD, improving their health-related quality of life. In this interactive Web workshop, Dr. Cote will guide you through a diagnostic workup in a male patient presenting with signs and symptoms of COPD. She will then lead you in a discussion regarding the components of a pulmonary rehabilitation program and the related treatment goals.
